Ahmad Al Fahad

Ahmed Al-Fahad joined Aljazeera Media Network in 2012 as Executive Director of Projects Department. Al-Fahad is managing the implementation of the internal and external strategic projects from planning to execution and completion. He has also completed a number of big projects, which have positively reflected on the Network’s operational work.

Before joining Al-Jazeera Media Network, Al-Fahad worked as Manager of Projects Department in QATARGAS Company, for a period of eleven years during which he was a member of the project management team for constructing the south-hook LNG receiving terminal in the UK, which was owned by Qatar Petroleum Company.

Al-Fahad obtained a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 2001, and an executive MBA, HEC Paris in 2017.

Achievements:

Al-Fahad is a Board Member in Qatar Satellite Company (EshailSat) and a member in EshailSat Audit Committee.

He managed and completed the Launch of Phase1 of Al-Jazeera workplace transformation project; which included complete infrastructure work, buildings, power, connectivity and equipment of broadcast rooms while assuring the work has been implemented with no impact whatsoever on the live coverage of the network’s channels and according to the highest safety standards.

The project required integration with multiple parties and massive systems to manage, plan and implement the work and coordinate workflow with all internal and external parties, including contractors, consultants and others, in order to enhance the Network’s channels’ live coverage by service providers. The project also required training, end-to-end testing and multiple readiness checks that resulted in professional and high quality delivery.

Al-Fahad launched and completed the new enterprise resources planning ERP system (SAP) for the network which helped to establish centralised database to facilitate access to information in the network and raise the efficiency of reporting. The project has also helped in the placing of a number of governance policies and procedures related to the Network’s workflow.

The Projects Department in Aljazeera Media Network has established a corporate projects division in order to follow up the workflow and apply Project Quality Assurance methodology during implementation, such as ensuring high efficiency and on-time delivery of projects. A new maintenance division has also been established in order to ensure proper maintenance services for all the Network’s buildings and facilities.

Al-Fahad has developed with the Boston Consulting Group BCG the project management framework for Aljazeera Media Network to manage corporate projects from initiation until completion.

Al-Fahad is a steering committee member of Aljazeera Network’s Transformation project, which was executed by the BCG.  

Al-Fahad was Head of QATARGAS Plant Engineering Projects Department. He led a team of engineers to successfully execute a group of plant and shutdown projects, and supervised the overall implementation of activities and projects between QATARGAS and other companies in Raslaffan industrial city.

Al-Fahad participated as a team member in the development of the Change and Development Programme at QATARGAS, aiming to develop the life cycle of small projects, starting from the planning phase to the implementation, handover and closedown phases.

Al-Fahad has also participated as a team member in the development of the IPMS programme to apply governance management for medium and large projects.
